Tortola - Brewers Bay

Does anyone know how much a taxi to Brewers Bay in Tortola costs and can you get transport form within the port area (like you do for Cane Garden) or should we use a taxi outside? Was thinking Cane Garden again but understand the water is very high at the moment and so it gets even more crowded than usual. Thanks for any advice.

I think it's the same as Cane Garden - $8 each way. It's about the same distance from the pier. Our friends recommended it to us too, so we're thinking of going. Shame we're not on the same cruise or we could have shared a taxi :)

A problem can be having to hang around until they fill the taxi/mini bus

We went in 2013 and I think it was taxi only then - think it was $25 each way. We travel as a 4 so that was no problem. Preferred it to Cane Garden as it is quieter but have been to Smugglers Cove in the past and that is nicer but more difficult to get to as the road is not that good and some taxis won't go there.

Are there any loungers, umbrellas or facilities at Brewer's Bay?

We much prefer Brewers Bay. Much less commercialised. The Pelicans dive for their breakfast. Lots of fish and easy snorkeling by the rocks. Sun beds for hire but no parasols last time we were there. Only one bar very uncommercialised. No hawkers or hassle.

Perfect Caribbean beach.

Our friends met another couple coming off the ship so they shred it between the 4 of them. The official BVI taxis website says $24 for 1 person or $12 per person 2 people or $8 per person 3 or more

Loungers, trees at the back of the beach for shade, a bar/cafe with wash rooms. There can be an undertow if the sea is rough, beware.
