doones2 Posted January 18, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2016 Is there a certain area of the city that has the most shopping? I am not looking for a Mall. I prefer small boutiques with native goods and gift shops. I was wondering if the trolley stops at an area like that. Speaking of the free trolley, has anyone ever hopped on and stayed on for a tour of the city?
ozarkmama Posted January 19, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2016 The trolley is not for sight seeing. They are strictly for transportation. http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/free-trolley-old-san-juan/
RayInPR Posted January 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2016 Shops are located throughout Old San Juan. There is a concentration of shops on Calle Fortaleza and Calle Cristo.

sail7seas Posted January 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2016 The shopping begins immediately across the street from where the ships dock.. You will see the few years old Ralph Lauren store and can proceed up the hills to lots of other shops.
13cheermom Posted February 3, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 3, 2016 Actually there is also a Marshall's in San Juan, if you shop there. It's 3 floors and one of the largest ones I've been inside. We always like to stop in and see what they have, very clean and really well organized. The Polo store is also there right across from the cruise port along with the CVS. There are also a lot of smaller boutique type stores but are kinda scattered throughout the city, but fun to walk around and find on your own. carrikerry Posted February 6, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2016 Even though the free trolley isn't an official "tour" of the city you can ride it thru a lot of OSJ. We rode it in December when we were there for a few days pre cruise and felt like we had a free city tour. We stayed at the Sheraton and they were the ones who suggested it to us. It was perfect, we rode around and looked at the beautiful city and when we saw something we wanted to check out we hoped off at the next stop. Have fun!:D
