Children on Christmas New Year Cruise

We are considering the Christmas/New Year cruise from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso in December'16, as it is during school holidays we were wondering if there would be some children on board. We are not averse to children as we have grandchildren of our own but as Oceania do not appear to provide facilities or entertainment we wondered if there would be some aboard.

 

Also anyone who has been on this cruise and has any tips or suggestions would be gratefully received.

We did this one several years ago - during Christmas an New Years. There was only one young child on board. You are more likely to encounter "them" on one of the Miami to Miami Caribbean cruises.

If children on board are a concern do not travel during the Christmas holiday. It's a crapshoot, You may get one or a few or a hundred loud, rambunctious kids as a friend of mine did a couple of years a go, He wanted to throw himself overboard.

We were on the Marina for a cruise from Rio to Santiago which started in early December with a B2B from Santiago to Papeete starting late December. There were a few children on the first cruise, but many children and teens on the second leg of the cruise. Southern hemisphere vacations begin about mid December, so there were both South American, Australian and New Zealander families.
