Does booking on board for your next cruise really save that much money??

Cruise prices are the same. You get reduced deposit and on board credit either immediately or on the future cruise.

We've found that we don't have much to lose by booking on board. We get some OBC, a really lower cruise deposit, and we can change the reservation at any time and not lose these perks. We can also assign it to a TA after we get back if we want (I think it's up 60 days). And, if we decide not to cruise we can cancel it and get the deposit refunded.

 

The only hitch is you have to tie up a $100 per person for the deposit, but the interest in the banks is not so great these days so we find that the $200 is not that big of a deal.

 

Another nice thing is that RCCL is really good at giving you a lower price or different room if you decide to make changes to the reservations.

 

The last time we did this (on our last cruise for our next cruise) we got the OBC *and* the C&A balcony discount which doesn't always happen when booking on line.

 

It's not a phenomenal deal, but it's not a bad deal by any means. It's also really convenient.

Prices are good. We just did booked one while on the Allure, and received a reduced deposit, $200 on board credit to use in the future, and $200 to use on board for the cruise we were on. Not too bad a deal.
