cookmg40 Posted January 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2016 The last few reviews I've read about Haven suites on The Escape mentioned free movies on demand in the rooms. A selection of about 100 movies. Does anyone know if this is available on The Breakaway in the Haven suites? Thank you.

garnet115 Posted January 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2016 Are the suites still equipped with a DVD player even if there is no longer a DVD lending library?
Casino Comp Chick Posted January 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2016 Are the suites still equipped with a DVD player even if there is no longer a DVD lending library? cookmg40 Posted January 26, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted January 26, 2016 There was a DVD player on the BA H6 in 2014. Good to know about the movies, thanks! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
phissy Posted January 27, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Also.... Are there CD players in suites. Can we bring iPod with music and play it in cabin? Thanks.
PatJim Posted January 27, 2016 #9 Share Posted January 27, 2016 The Gem went in dry dock last November. We had sailed on her last September, and again in December, after dry dock. Both times in suites. They upgraded the tv selections, with lots of On Demand titles. Cost was $9.99, but as was reported elsewhere here on CC, if you are in a suite, they charge for the movie, then deduct it before disembarkation. So, yes, suites get free ODM. Re the DVR, I always bring CDs of favorite music, but alas, although there was a DVR in the room, it no longer connects to the new LG TVs. We were told NCL will be removing the DVRs from suite cabins, as the system isn't compatible with the new TVs. This, along with exchanging the Lavazza machine for a simple N'Espresso that cannot make cappuccino, is the downside to NCL's upgrades, especially for suite cruisers. The new TV system doesn't make up for the above changes :(
PatJim Posted January 27, 2016 #10 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Also....Are there CD players in suites. Can we bring iPod with music and play it in cabin? Thanks. Re iPods, we met a sound technician at the Meet & Greet on our December Gem cruise. He wasn't in a suite, but thought he could plug his music into the TV. The new TVs have a plug for this, but his was mounted so the brace holding the TV to the wall covered part of the plug, so he couldn't use it. He brought this to the attention of an NCL 'trouble shooter' who was on board with us, and the man said they would look into it.
