Is it possible to walk from the port to the Embassy Suites on 17th St.? Also can we walk to the viewing place off the 17th St. bridge?

Thanks

It depends on which cruise line you are on. As I recall, Princess piers are walkable (still a decent hike though).

Most of the other cruise line piers are too far IMO.

It's about 1 mile to terminal 2 (Princess) and in south Florida heat and humidity that can be problematic. You can take a cab for $10 - $15 (depending upon your terminal).

The walk to the 17th Street Bridge is a little shorter distance (and you won't be dragging luggage :D). If the walk is too much, jump on the Sun Trolley (http://www.suntrolley.com - $1/ride or $3/day pass) at its terminus in front of the Publix in the Harbor Shops behind the Embassy Suites. Get off before it crosses the bridge - then you just need to hike to the top of the bridge.

Here's a map of the port. You can easily locate the Embassy Suites. Walking to the bridge is easy. Walking to the terminal depends. I used the directions function to show the path from the E/S to terminal 22/24 normally used by HAL. This is the worse case. You can use the same function to see the routes to the other terminal.

Here's how you use the function.

Right click next to the E/S and select Directions from here.

Right click next to the terminal you want and select directions to here.

Examine the results.

You can also use the right click function and search for restaurants, hotels, gas stations, etc.
