Rare ghstudio Posted February 4, 2016 #51 Share Posted February 4, 2016 Will the zika virus causes cruise fares to drop to the Caribbean this year? I don't know if fares will drop or we will see a number of new offers, but clearly there will be cancellations.....and to the chagrin of Celebrity, many if not most of those will be in their target demographic passenger....the one's who know that Marco Polo is a game of some sort. It's a good time to sit and wait.....rather than jump based on marketing tactics like saying they won't reduce fares within 30 days of sailing and equivalent. grandgeezer Posted February 4, 2016 #52 Share Posted February 4, 2016 I just ran this cruise through celebritycruises.com and it appears you can buy it without BBB. $1189 for a balcony but when you hit continue it shows $1999 and tells you to pick two perks. It also asks you if you want to go back to the original offer and it takes you back $1189. I took it all way to entering payment info and the price held. Unless the website is messed up, you're paying $810 p.p. for the two perks, not quite free. This is an AZ resident rate. They must be selling a few cabins, the price is up $120 p.p. Rare MicCanberra Posted February 4, 2016 #53 Share Posted February 4, 2016 I think the fares for those cruises as well as for cabin categories will yoyo a bit for some time: some will drop and then rise again, some will drop and stay there, some will rise and then drop again, some will rise and stay there, while others will just stay at that price.
