I also managed to find a way to get more than $1000 OBC but won't be blabbing it all over the forums and having the loophole get closed.

Trying to not go off topic, but has anyone ever received one of these state discounts? I never heard anyone say so. Over the years I figured it was NCL trying to get demographic data and now never bother selecting a state when checking online.

 

 

I haven't seen NCL offer them, but DCL offers Florida resident rates quite often due to an agreement made over using the port.

I had originally purchased $3000 OBC before NCL decide to back out of their side of the agreement. I called and had them immediately refund my card. The woman I spoke to mentioned they were manually going through all reservations to remove anything in excess of $1000.

 

Fast forward to the week before my cruise. I figured I'll buy another $3000 and and hope it slips through onto my account before they manually remove it. Sure enough their ridiculous lack of management allowed the credit to be applied. By mid week the full OBC was available (after the minor hiccup I mentioned previously). I promptly paid my 3% service charge at the casino and had cash in hand.

 

Before all you shareholders start crying - relax. I spent most of it on board in the casino and the watch shop. But I did have some left over to bring home. So if anyone is leaving soon go ahead and try.
