Port check in time?

I obviously suck at using the search here and I'm sure this has been answered already.... But can you go to check in basically anytime at port (well, like after 10:30 am). We are sailing Oasis and they gave me a check-in time of 12:30 which seems late to me!

The suggested time is given to spread out the load, but you can show up at any time.

Is 10:30/11 too early? Would we just be sitting around waiting until 12:30 anyways?

No, you would just wait until embarkation has started and you allowed to board - probably around 11.

To my knowledge, no ships based in the US are enforcing suggested check-in times. However, I have read that it's been done in with ships based in Austrailia.
