A completely different disembarkation plan - with no lines! It works!

6) When you get to the luggage claim area, there will only be a few dozen suitcases left. So EASY to spot your own! Plenty of room to wheel/negotiate. No lines going through customs, either!

Only works if someone in a hurry does not walk off with your case

We spent 1/ hr looking for our bag finally saw a man come back to the baggage are & drop it near the pile

delaying our leisurely trip to the airport

PLEASE PEOPLE check the tag just because it may look like yours it might not be

We do self disembarkation and get into line at any time we want....we don't get up at a ridiculous hour in the morning to get our spot in line. We leave our luggage in our cabin and get breakfast, then return to cabin retrieve the luggage and we are on our way off the ship. We don't have a flight to catch, so if someone has a very early flight then they need to be one of the first off the plane -- and that is a different hassle.

This is terrific to know. I actually cannot remember what the luggage tag disembarkation is like (though it was just Jan 2014 we would have done it), and I didn't like getting up and out super-early for self disembark Oct of that year. I've wondered if we can just carry off our bags at a time that we choose.

Absolutely agree with everything said by the OP, and this is what we generally do unless there is some vital reason we need to take an early flight. We enjoy being on a ship and we figure why fight our way off on the last morning when we can relax, have a slow breakfast, sit in a deck chair on a near empty deck, etc. We do this in ports all over the world including US Ports. For Caribbean cruises we seldom leave a ship prior to 9:30 (sometimes later). While folks are waiting in long queues, working up a sweat, trying to find their luggage among thousands of pieces, etc. we are lounging in a deck chair with our Kindles and a cup of coffee. Once everyone is off the ship we simply grab an elevator down to the appropriate deck, walk off the ship, grab our luggage (easy to find), and usually get a taxi (with no long taxi queue).
