Jalex63 Posted February 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) From two different sources on our last cruise we were led to believe that the Veendam is either for sale, or has been sold. Anyone? Edited February 25, 2016 by Jalex63
Krazy Kruizers Posted February 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2016 Several years ago all 4 S class ships were up for sale. Then Carnival decided to transfer the Ryndam and Statendam over to P&O which happened in the fall of 2015. The Veendam and Maasdam are still up for sale. So far no one wants either ship. But it could happen at any time.
catl331 Posted February 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2016 Prinsendam has also long been listed for sale, but no takers at the current price.
SeaBands Posted February 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 25, 2016 so they must be planning to keep it for a while.

CRAFTCRUISER Posted February 25, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 25, 2016 Anyone that have been on the Veendam in a handicap room "G" large, how are they?
OlsSalt Posted February 25, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 25, 2016 Or give it more "curb appeal" :) Interesting point about the Prinsendam - like the newly enclosed Winter Garden. Captain told us in 2013 they expected at least another 5 years emphasizing CCL was still doing major work on her. But agree, maybe this is to make her more salable since she is already quite .... sailable. Goodness sakes did we ever enjoy our Neptune Suite up on the Crows Nest deck - thank goodness we had the chance to do her right. But she does have some major drawbacks and one wonders if HAL will continue this very small cruise ship option in the future or whether this will fall only to the luxury lines, and priced accordingly. SeaBands Posted February 25, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 25, 2016 We did not feel that it was worth the extra cost for a crowded balcony cabin. Much prefer the cabins on the other HAL ships.
