June 6, 2016 might be a little early for salmon in Skagway. Look into Juneau or Ketchican for salmon fishing as well.

We went fishing twice in Ketchikan, both time it was fantastic, but we fished for Halibut, and the salmon were jumping everywhere. Our guide catch salmon and put pieces of it on our line for the halibut. Other folks were out and caught many different kinds of fish and had great luck, we were just outside of the port near the light house. It was in June, so if possible I suggest fishing from there.In 3 hour husband caught 6 fish, we were allowed to ship home only 2, but they were great. Just a suggestion.
