Taxi Service at Port Everglades

I have sailed out of Miami a few times and know that when I walk of the ship, there is a taxi stand on the curb that you request a cab from, wait in line and get your cab. This is how we usually travel to the airport following our cruise. This fall, I will be sailing for the first time from Port Everglades. I have a shuttle service to take me there but was curious about a ride back to the airport. Can anyone tell me if I will be able to just hail a cab at the pier or do I need something pre-scheduled? Thanks for any and all help!
