Bottled water in Wonder cabins.

We are going on the Wonder on March 16 and would like to know if we are allowed to carry on bottled water. Also is bottled water provided in the cabin at no charge?

ship's drinking water is sea water either distilled or purified by reverse osmosis and as 'good' as what you buy.

 

Bring a bottle you can refill and save $$.

 

The ship's water it what they cook with, clean with and make ice with.

Because some families like to take many bottles of water on excursions. My backpack has no less than 12 bottles of water when we leave the ship. We fly from AZ to MCO and don't like to lug that many refillable bottles with us.

We typically bring 4 to 6 empty insulated water bottles; two empties in the pockets of my carryon (backpack) and additional empties in regular luggage. Fill them with ice and water once on board. :)

OK....I bring one or two refillable bottles per person and don't buy water on the ship. Since I can't fly with the water, these are empty bottles. Whatever works for each of us.

I'm not going to say there's any scientific reason for it, but when our son drinks the ship's water (or water at Disney World or just about anywhere not at home), he will become violently ill after 4-5 days. We had that happen multiple times. We switched to bottled water for him and have never had an issue since.

 

So, in our case, that's why.

Another thing to consider is that when the ship is docked at a US port, it will fill the water tanks with municipal water. It costs less to purchase the water from the local governments than to make water on board. So on a short cruise it is possible that you will never consume water processed on board.

 

However, they do this only at US ports. When this water supply reaches a certain level, they start processing sea water. How long the water tanks last depend on many factors. The most variable is how often the pools have to be drained during the day.

All of the domestic water aboard is chlorinated. Not a deal-breaker for me but it may be for some.
