Help! I'm trying to search

How would I search for something with more than one word, when I want ALL the words to be part of the search. Eg, Gem Haven (just for example!). I don't want the posts/threads about the Gem in general, or about any other ship's Haven.

Try Advanced Search, it should allow you to tailor your results a little more (I think there is a link for this when you click on search).

I did try advanced search with no luck. Maybe I am using it incorrectly.

Use Google. You can limit the search to these forums by adding "site:boards.cruisecritic.com" and then whatever you want to search for (with quotes if you want the exact phrase).

Thanks; I will try Google. But it seems like there SHOULD be a way to do in right on this board...if there isn't, someone should fix it! I can't believe no one else wants to do this.

Try using the phrase in quotes or string the words together with AND that will cause the search engine to find all the words in the phrase.

Zqvol - thanks but that didn't work for me. I will try the Google search when I feel like messing around with it a bit more.

Did you try going to the ships board that you are interested in and then searching that board only?

Forum search engines, especially on very large forums, are usually inadequate. As hawkeyetlse said, putting this in a google search will get you the posts that mention both Gem and Haven: site:boards.cruisecritic.com "gem haven"
