Pilgrim70 Posted March 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2016 Are there any advantages to making the final payment before the due date? Expect a cancellation would be a problem even thought I think in the US you can cancel before final due date. Lanky Lad Posted March 14, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2016 Other than the satisfaction of knowing your cruise is paid for, I don't think there is any advantage.
Salacia Posted March 14, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2016 In the US, we can get price adjustments if the fare decreases prior to final payment. I've had at least one occasion before final payment where there was a much better offer than what I booked, so I had to cancel my original booking and re-book to get the better offer. Perhaps this all could have been accomplished if I had already paid in full, but it would have meant adjustments on my credit card which can take some time, plus Cunard would have had full use of my paid-early-money, not me. Sorry, but I can't think of a reason to pay in full prior to due date. -S.
Underwatr Posted March 15, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 15, 2016 Cancelation fees for US bookings are determined by the number of days before sailing, not whether you've actually made final payment. If you pay in full upon early booking it's still fully refundable up to 91 days before sailing.
Salacia Posted March 15, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 15, 2016 Just to mention, reading the passage contract will provided additional information. For the US version, see http://www.cunard.com/legal-information/
