A few more pictures at Bamboo Beach. The one below is of the more expensive area. We elected to go with the cheaper day at Bamboo Beach for around $60pp. The expensive area was closer to $100pp. As I understand it, the only difference between the two was the comfortable loungers pictured below. Other than that, both groups had the same free access to food and booze.

Shanghai's. We never did eat there although we tried. It was very popular.

The location of Shanghai's is right beside the casino. Odd spot for a restaurant I'd say.

Sorry I was away for a bit there - I guess I have to work at least once in a while. Next up Grand Cayman. The day was nice up until shortly after lunch and then some clouds rolled in.

I think that's the Regal Princess to the left- we're sailing on her in December!

To the left is a Solstice Class ship - the prettiest looking cruise ship sailing today IMO.

Of course the Getaway is no slouch in the pretty department either.

Pre-cruise:

We stayed at La Quinta in Deerfield which was ok. We flew in a few days early so we could enjoy a couple of days on the beach pre-cruise. While it was a bit cool, there wasn't a cloud in the sky and so we had two really nice days. One day we spent on FLL Beach and the other on Hollywood Beach. Of course we managed to get to Port Everglades for an afternoon of viewing cruise ships as they sailed out. There will be a few pictures of cruise ships of course.

Did you rent a car to get around and get to the port? I'm sailing on the Getaway in December and thinking of staying Fort Lauderdale the night before. Did you take a shuttle to the port?

Thanks

Colleen

Our next stop was Cozumel. I didn't take many pictures this day due to the rain. While it was ok in the morning, it rained most of the afternoon sadly which meant no beach time for Cozumel. We spent the latter part of the afternoon in the Spa relaxing.

Yes, we rented a car - its the only way to go if you're going to stay in the South Florida area for a couple of days. Its cheaper and much more flexible than cabs or shuttles. We rented with Hertz and dropped the car off at the downtown Miami location and they shuttled us over to the port for no charge.

The next few pictures is from the area down by guest services, just below O'Sheehans. I thought this was an odd place for a large screen like they have there. If someone is at Guest Services getting some questions answered, many times you have to yell to be heard and listening is a strain because of the noise. Odd place for this.

There's a coffee bar over in the corner there - you have to pay for your coffee here but its quite good.

A quiet night in the Garden Cafe. Food in the buffet was quite good all week and I liked the fact they have toasters there. You can make your own toast and have it hot and ready to eat instead of warm stale bread that many cruiselines mistakenly call toast.
