weebo Posted March 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2016 Can you use credit cards in the taxis in San Juan? Is the costs the same as for cash and do you tip? If you tip, is that in cash or added to the credit card (if you can use them) Thanks!
sail7seas Posted March 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2016 Cab fares are zoned in San Juan. There are fixed rates, for example, to come from airport to Old San Juan. I always pay cash in a taxi and unless some very extreme displeasure about the ride, I always tip.

Rare Keith1010 Posted March 23, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 23, 2016 We too pay by cash. Even if they take credit cards be sure to have cash. In other places that we have traveled where credit cards are taken many times the machine is not working. Personally, I wouldn't risk using the credit card. Keith Agree...completely...no reason not to have cash here for a taxi OP.
hank1065 Posted March 24, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 24, 2016 Most do not accept credit cards. The few that do charge a hefty premium. Cash is king Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
sail7seas Posted March 26, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 26, 2016 I'd worry a bit about scanning a credit card through a Caribbean taxi credit card reader. Bring cash. The rides are not the pricey.
