Specialty Dining Promo only 3 days now?

Recommended Posts

When I re-booked with the SDP + UBP combo in November My PCC sent over an AMENITY CONFIRMATION right after booking. It has each of us with DINPK4 4 Meal Specialty Dining Package.

You may want to request an amenity confirmation to be sure, but I assume that if it was 4 when booking and you paid the service/gratuity charge for four meals then you will get the four meals.

Edit: It took me forever to find this in my e-mail because it wasn't clearly marked as such in the subject line.

I think this promo depends on length of cruise, I chose it as a promo

thinking it was as many times are you wanted but it is only 5, I am doing a 12 day cruise

Right, but it used to be 4 meals on sailings 5-9 nights and now it is 3.

Okay, called and got em to send me my amenity confirmation and it's listed as 4 meals. He did say that if I upgraded that this would change though. Was hoping to call the upsell line in a few weeks :(

Glad you were able to get a confirmation. From everything I've read an upsell will not change your promos - it's different than upgrading apparently.

We booked the same cruise in January and the promo was for 4 dinners. We booked Cagney's, Teppanyaki, Le Bistro and La Cucina. Last time I looked 2 of those were not available to book. So, if you haven't, book as soon as you board. They do hold some reservations.

I booked at midnight at 90 days out to get the best times, and even booked an extra night (outside of SDP) at Bayamo just in case ;) That's why I was sad to see it changed to only 3 meals - a la carte on NCL can get expensive!

Good, you did your homework. Does your amenity confirmation show the PHO50A for Fifty standard photos? If yes, just curious if you know what exactly that is?

That's 50 free portraits, yes? I didn't receive that because it wasn't offered at the time I booked.

I upgraded for our next cruise and it went down from 4 meals to 3 meals. Otherwise, if we had gotten an upsell, I understand we would have kept it. I couldn't wait though as the room we wanted was almost sold out.

I upgraded from interior to balcony right before the policy changed, apparently. Really glad because I wouldn't have even noticed otherwise! Really sad to see it go down to 3 nights though, but at least you got a nicer room!

I booked my October cruise on 3/13/2016 and my confirmation says 4 night dining. We are platinum so get another night at lebistro free. That's specialty dining 5 out of 7 nights. Can't wait.

If you are both platinum, you should both get a meal for two at Le Bistro with wine, so that would make six nights of specialty dining.

With the two Le Bistro meals we get as Platinum, $100 food credit from the casino, and the 4 meals from our booking with the prior promo last month, it actually makes it tough to figure out where to eat each day. We call this a First World problem:o

So.... it won't bother us much to go down to a 3 meal promo for a week-long cruise. Wish they would bring back other promos like free gratuities or something.

Most likely if you upGRADE you lose the promo you had but if you UpSELL you keep the promo you had.

Wow! I did not realize this. This is our 1 st time platinum. We actually got two cruise certificates thru twin rivers and ncl. Booked at a great time and got a ocean view with picture window, UBP, dining package and trip insurance for $1,000 total price. 7 night Bermuda. No airfare because we live close to port. Cheap week getaway.
