Alright everybody, sorry for not posting another bit tonight but I had a really rough day at work and its official... Photobucket and my Internet don't work well together. I have all but the first few days' food pics uploaded though, so tomorrow I PROMISE another installment with pictures. Maybe even 2 days will get posted. :)

YEA! I am 3 days after cruise blues and it is not going well. A week ago we were in beautiful St. Maarten. Thanks for sharing this! BTW, while I am highjacking this, we did the steakhouse the lst night. First time we have ever dined there and it was awesome! Tuesday we had a luncheon with the officers there as we turned Diamond this cruise. We were seated at that middle round table in your picture. The skylight is BEAUTIFUL inside and out, but with the sun shining thru it and ONTO YOU it was like being in a greenhouse in the middle of summer. It was HOT HOT HOT....and everything looked red lol.

Hey!! Great to "see" you again! :) You really should try Pride out, she's a great ship with some incredible staff and crew on her. Hope y'all are doing well!

Yep, doing great! Had a baby last year, having another one this year, and currently researching a cruise for Fall 2017. It's been far too long since we cruised. We're going to Vegas with friends in a few weeks but I'm really wishing we were going on a cruise instead. Looking forward to the rest of your review!

Congrats on your little ones, that is exciting! Have fun with the cruise planning, I think I enjoy the planning now almost as much as sailing!

Alright, sorry for the delay everyone, let's get this review back on track. Now, where were we? Oh yes, the first sea day!

Today we slept in a little bit, we got up and about at around 8:45. We decided to go to the sea day brunch for breakfast as that is one of our favorite sea day options. We ended up at a table for 2 and had Fernando and Felix for our waiters. They were awesome! Service was quick and efficient. Chris ordered the blueberry pancakes, which he said were really, really good.

I decided to start off healthy and got the fruit plate, which was yummy.

I followed that up with the huervos rancheros, which were really good.

We walked around for a few minutes to not feel guilty for the big breakfast, and I snapped a pic of the Lido on Pride:

We also walked through the casino, and I came to realize over the course of this cruise something about Pride's casino: it is not nearly as smoky as the other ships that we have sailed on! I'm not sure what they are doing differently in this casino, but I know that on Liberty, Splendor, and Sunshine I couldn't stand to even walk through them sometimes. However, on Pride I actually donated a little money to some of the machines in there. Whatever they are doing on this ship to help with the smoke is working.

We attended Steve's Fun Aboard, Fun Ashore talk, and it was interesting. He gave away a LOT of stuff, but we didn't win anything....darn. He gave away 2 shore excursions for each port, 2 Internet packages, 2 Bottomless Bubbles packages, and some items from the Fun Shops. I was really hoping for an Internet package...oh well.

Speaking of Internet packages, before I forget to mention it, I did invest in the Social package. I mainly did so to keep in touch with our pet sitter back home since this was a long sailing for us. The speed was great I thought, but I could never get Snapchat to work and that is an app they advertise to work with the Social plan. Facebook worked fine though. I ended up using FB messenger a lot to keep in contact when one of my cats became sick, and I was glad I purchased the plan...it saved me on the amount of texts that I would have ended up sending!

We had a cabin crawl with our Cruise Critic roll call today, I believe it started at 1:30. We had an interior, and interior with a picture window, an interior with a French door, a few balconies, and a Vista suite. Let me just say....I WILL book a Vista suite one day! That room looked awesome, and thank you to everyone who opened up your rooms to view!

After our cabin crawl we had a Meet & Greet at 3:30. We did a gift exchange where everyone brought a gift from their area, and Steve the cruise director was kind enough to come talk with us. It was a great turnout.

I forgot to take pictures of our dinner tonight, sorry everyone! To be honest I had my camera, but we were sat at a 10 person table and I felt kind of weird with my camera out to take pictures of what I was eating. Don't worry, I did get over that later in the cruise and there will be lots of food pictures in a few days! Anyway, we went to dinner at 5:45 and Chris ordered the prime rib. He always says it is great, so either Carnival is always cooking perfect prime ribs or else he is just greatful for the red meat since I rarely make it at home. :p I decided to try sea bass and discovered really quick that I don't like it AT ALL, however, someone else at the table ordered it and said it was great. I am not a big fish eater, so don't be scared to try it based on my opinion. My backup plan for dinner was the vegetarian dish, a root pie, and that was SO GOOD. I loved it, I wish they would have served it again on the cruise. For our appetizers (sorry, I know I did the main dishes first) Chris got his usual Caesar salad and said it was good, and I decided to try the kale and pork tart things...I was glad that I did! Those little things were DELICIOUS! Dessert was chocolate melting cake for me, and ice cream for Chris. Our dinner companions were great, we ended up staying in the MDR until 8.

Our production show tonight was 88 Keys, and the piano bar player (Rob) did a pre show. That man can play the piano like no other! I wasn't a huge fan of his singing voice, but wow...he can play piano. We watched the show, and then discovered Andy playing the guitar in the atrium. That man has a beautiful voice and can really play the guitar. After hearing him tonight, whenever I heard him singing somewhere I was drawn to go listen. He is incredible. We hung around and listened to him for a while, until I began to get sleepy. I finally decided to call it a day at 10:30.

I was lazy today and slept in until 9. I'm on vacation! We decided to go to the open seating at breakfast today, but I forgot my phone or camera for pictures...sorry! I got a cheese omlet (mmmmmm!) with a side of chicken sausage (don't try it people! It's OK in the Blue Iguana breakfast burritos, but in the MDR it's nasty!) and hash brown potatoes (they were good). We then decided to walk around the ship for a bit on the upper decks, and upon seeing the water slides we decided to go change into our swimsuits. It was probably about 11 when we did this. I was too chicken to do Green Thunder, but Chris went down it probably 5 times. He loved it and said it was the best slide on any of the ships we have sailed. I stuck with Twister and went down it 2 times, then decided to stand under the Power Drencher. However, much to my disappointment, a crew member told us that Power Drencher was broke. It would fill about 1/2 way but that was it, it wasn't holding water so it wouldn't drench you. Darn it, I loved it on the Breeze and Sunshine!

I was super excited to see that Pride was doing Open Seating in the MDR for lunch today. Something different! I ordered the California Roll as an appetizer (it was good) and the build your own burger for my main.

IMG_20160325_171511673_zpsaulshzn5.jpg

This burger was yummy, nowhere near as greasy as Guy's! I got it with cheese, guacamole, and chili on it...yum! I even splurged and got dessert, a black forest sundae...it was delicious!

After lunch I sat on the balcony and read my book until 2, when it was time for the Suess Parade!

It was cute, the characters came out and the kids and characters paraded to the Taj Mahal for storytime. Yes, I joined them...

After hearing Cat in the Hat I went back to the balcony to nap...errr, I mean read! Haha. I did this until dinner at 6:15. Tonight I had a Caesar salad, which was OK but not nearly as good as others I've had on the ships. I was brave and ordered the salmon cakes as my main, and oh I am so glad that I did! They were phenominal! My backup was the Mojito chicken, which had potential...the sauce was pretty good, but the meat was tough. I ordered 2 desserts tonight, the first was the sticky toffee thing, which was kind of lame. I took a bite and that was it. The second was the S'mores parfait, and IT IS DELICIOUS! I scraped my little dish clean, and I hope they offer it on future cruises I do.

We went to the comedy club after dinner, but I forget who was performing. My notes say they were good, but I failed to write a name down...and I threw my FunTimes away on the ship...sorry.

After the comedy we went and saw Getaway Island. It was a cute show, and Andy did a pre-show set, which we enjoyed. We called it a night after the show ended and looked forward to tomorrow....Grand Turk, the first of our 8 islands!

Love the picture of the "pink" steakhouse. It reminded me of the Madonna Inn in SLO.

I love David's on Pride...being right under the funnel makes it so pretty!

Congrats on turning Diamond! I never thought about it being hot in there during the day with the funnel allowing light thru!

Great review! I will be anxiously awaiting your posts! Would love to be able to do a Journeys cruise one day!

I never thought we would be able to do such a long cruise, at least not until we retired. I was so glad I hoarded my PTO time and we could do this cruise.

Can't wait to keep reading!

We went to steakhouse the lst night. The 2nd night they sat us with Fernando and Felix as our waiters and we became instant BFF!! We requested them/that booth every night and the maitre d was kind enough to reserve it for us. I miss them! Fernando's wife Zarah is a waiter also and they have a 3 yo daughter staying with his parents in the Phillipines.

For all you Caesar salad lovers: I have found the salad at the Pizza Pirate is much better than the salad in the MDR. Sorry for the highjack!!! :o:o

I wondered about the salad from the Pizza Pirate! I even almost ordered one, but DH told me to just order one from room service. Those were better, but still not the really yummy Caesar salads I am use to from Carnival. Oh well, I will try them again in May on the Sunshine. :)

I remember you! Man, the Breeze....that cruise seems like soooo long ago! I told Chris we need to go back on that ship as I remember LOVING that cruise, but I feel like I didn't have time to do everything in just 6 short days!

I will work more on this review tonight everyone...we are having rainy weather here today, so after I feed the horses/cats/dog and sweep and vacuum the house I should be able to power through a few of the port days. :) Those are the best parts of the cruise, right?
