Water bus over to Toulon

There are ferries going from the docking point but these are quite expensive at about 20 euros each way I gather. However if you go into La Seyne (ten min walk or 5€ on the diddy "train") you can catch the blue boat "bus"service across the bay which is 2€ per trip and a very frequent service.

Can someone please explain how to get from the ship La Seyne to Toulon using the water bus and back again.

We took the 8M boat from La Seyne to Toulon. Very inexpensive and a short walk from our ship. Below are links to a map, boat route & timetables:

You can also download a great localization map (select "Download Toulon-La Seyne localisation map") here:

Wow great information. Can you get to the 8M boat launch just by walking along the waterfront? On google maps it looks like there is a bus shelter and red phone is this where you pick up the 8M boat?

Yes, you can reach the 8M dock by walking along the water. I don't know what bus shelter/phone you are referencing. The walk is only about 5 minutes from the ship - you can't miss it and others from your ship will be heading there as well. Check-out the last link I sent in my previous post. Also, if you increase the size of google maps (earth view), you can actually see the 8M dock - it is directly across from the large cruise ship you see docked in port, dock is on the water in front of Russo Yachting.

That is very close I thought it was a bit farther away just before Chambre Régionale Métiers Artisanat PACA from the maps I was looking at?

As I said, look at the link I sent you. There are actually 3 docking locations - the closest one I previously referenced is right across from the cruise terminal (further away from where we docked was the one near Chambre Régionale Métiers). As I said, it took us only about 5 minutes to get there from our ship. Use whichever location most convenient to where your ship docks. Feel free to check-out the location by asking for directions when you disembark in La Seyne. As I said, you can't miss it.

Yes the one directly across the dock from the ship is a lot easier. It is however €16 EACH WAY (last year's prices). Per person. Ahem.

Egads!! We certainly did not pay €16 - the advertised price on their website is listed at €2 each way. We bought our ticket on board and the ticket prices are listed on their website here:

http://www.reseaumistral.com/tarif/index.asp?rub_code=7

If they are now charging €16 for the closest departure point, I would walk a bit further along the water & catch the 8M from the 8M dock near Chambre Régionale Métiers.

Where do the cruise ship transfers leave from that cost so much more? This one seems soooo close already.
