Studio Cabins with white space beside them?

Anyone know what the deal with these are and what's in those blank spaces? Are they quite dreadful? (Located next some some horribly noisy closet or something? I've noticed on many fairly full ships they are the studio rooms left available. Anyone had any experience with them?) I assume they are not ship specific, since every ship with studios has them.

A lot of people say the connecting rooms are quite loud - anyone stayed in both types and have any thoughts on the blank space rooms or the connecting room being the lesser of the evils?

I have stayed in Studios my last 5 cruises- never had a problem with noise from connecting cabins.

The white black spaces are probably housekeeping closets. Other than in the mornings when they are getting things out or evenings putting things away- NOT A PROBLEM at least not to me.
