It looks like it is on the waterfront right in the center of town. Are you sure it's Sitka? The only project I currently see in Alaska is in Juneau. They are adding to floating piers in Juneau. One pier is supposed to be ready this season (2016) the second one in 2017. In Sitka they are refurbishing the visitirs center and museum. I'll bet it's the refurbishing of the visitor's center and museum that I've been seeing on the ALASKA APP. It looks like a major undertaking and it won't be long until the cruise season is again in full swing. Thanks for your response.
Northern Aurora Posted April 9, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2016 The Harrigan Centennial Hall in Sitka, which is located on the waterfront, is currently undergoing a renewal project. This building was constructed in 1967 and the word "centennial" refers to the celebrations across the state celebrating the 100 year purchase of Alaska. It has long needed some work and upgrades. I checked the website today and it looks like the work has progressed very well to date. I am looking forward to our summer visit. Thanks for your response.
