I am taking my Daughter on a special cruise and this is one of our stops...some quick questions...

 

1. Can you rent an umbrella for shade? (won't be getting a cabana)

2. Is there many places to get drinks on the island? (beer for me and juice for her)

3. Do they still serve a BBQ for lunch?

4. Any shopping on the island by the beach?

Several of your questions are discussed here regularly, particularly on the large threads about HMC.

 

Haven't seen umbrellas, but there are clamshells.

There are a couple of places to get drinks, plus waiters on the beach.

Yes, they still serve a BBQ.

Sorry. I did search some threads but most were from 2008-2014. Wasn't sure how accurate the info was .

 

What the heck is a clamshell? Will have to ask uncle Google as JH says..

A clamshell is a partial cover (mostly of your upper body). It wouldn't be as obstruction of views as an umbrella would be. They charge $19, I think. A search may show some pictures, and lots of advice on how to use them.

There are plenty of trees for shade...you can move your loungers wherever you want them!

 

Don't know about juice, but they have lemonade...and yes, beer for you!

 

Yes...there is still the BBQ lunch.

I did a search for Clamshells. They seem cool as well and may be worth it depending on how much shade I can find. My dd tends to burn easy and I am bald so that is not a good combo for no shade :)

I am not sure CB has been there recently. Yes, there is some shade, but it is back from the water a bit- and not always the best surfaces. There are also hammocks in the tree areas. Many trees have been damaged over the years. Loungers are free, and you can move them.
