Welcome to Cruise Critic.

I'd speak to a good travel agent who specializes in cruises. The agent can determine what "great" means to you and compare to cruise lines and itineraries.

It's a terrific time to sail the Mediterranean. Not humid and hot like the summer months and far less tourists.

I would figure out where in the Med you might want to sail and ask people you know for an Cruise Specialist that they use who can help guide you through all of this.

Thank you for your help. I hear that now there are different company in any ports that offer shared tours, some suggestions will be appreciated. I'll definitely choose a cruise that stops in Naples and Taormina so if you guys have any tips or name of company used I'll appreciated.

Thanks again

Get a copy of Rick Steves' Mediterranean Cruise Ports, and read about the ports you want to visit. You may find you can do some without an organized tour. We have been on two different ships that stopped in Catania, and we toured Taormina both times. First time, we took the tour from the ship. Second time, they had a tour 'on your own'. They bused you there and you did it on your own, then caught the bus back. There are a few smaller ships that will anchor below Taormina and tender you to shore. EM

I'm going on this one in October:

https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/12NightMediterraneanVeniceCruise-BR12M459?currencyCode=USD&sCruiseType=CO&sDateMin=2016-10-01&sDateMax=2016-10-31&sailDate=10%2F05%2F2016

We just checked a couple different cruiseline sites and narrowed down by the ports we wanted to see and the dates (our anniversary). I feel like maybe we should have looked around a bit more, but it was hard not to think This Is The One! as soon as we came across this one, as we'll spend our anniversary in Florence! It's on sale right now, too...although RCI has a different sale every other week, so if you aren't ready to book yet, you'll no doubt catch the next sale!

What ports are high on your list to visit? How many days? Big or small ship? Keep in mind it's hard to find a cruise that hits all the places you want to go. There is always that one port that is left out!

Princess Grand Mediterranean is a sure bet. Prices are really good for Med cruises this year so you have that on your side.

Get involved in your roll call for whatever cruise you choose. Sometimes you can get others on the roll call to share excursions with you. Private tours in the mediterranean are usually less expensive and cover more ground than the tours offered by the ship. We used Aldo Monti's Your Tour in Italy for Rome and Naples (Amalfi coast), and they were absolutely terrific.
