There's a saying in the film & TV business when it come to Lighting: "Less Is More". Since Royal Caribbean has their own TV facilities (RCTV), maybe they'll use that one for their next promotion.

They'll make you think you are getting more and paying less when in realty they are charging you more and giving you less.

I agree.....

But they are never going away, because they work.

I agree. New cruisers feel they are getting a deal. Maybe they will book 2 cruises--before the sale goes away. Long time cruisers know they are not really sales and complain, but they are not going to stop cruising. Some may try or change to other cruise lines. However, the loyalty perks for RCL are good. It is not just the free drinks. They are nice, but I like the connected feeling of the D lounge.

i.e. we took a TA from Barcelona to FLL before we became D. We participated in a couple of excursions from our roll call and were active in the roll call. . . . However, I felt very cut off from others. [many onboard were D and above] It seemed like everyone was in either the DL or CL.

On our TA from Harwich we were D and able to visit the lounge. It made the cruise experience better for me. . . . I still book RCL cruises and I book better cabins than when I started. So, their strategy is working on me to I guess. :o
