Shorebee, has anyone used them?

I was just about to book a few excursions on the Shorebee site. The panoramic Rome tour from Civitecchio and ones that just provide transport between port and town.

 

Ive checked for reviews and can only find two which seems a little suspect.

 

Had anyone used Shorebee?

We used them last November for a trip to Pompeii from Naples. I can highly recommend them, when we booked the trip with them we were under the impression that all we were paying for was the transportation to Pompeii and back to the ship, in fact we got a lot more than that. They got the tickets to the site so we didn't have to queue, provided us with a very entertaining and informative guide (which we weren't expecting) and they even supplied us with bottled water for our tour of the site. I would have no hesitation in booking with them again.

This is good to hear about shore bee. We like doing places on our own but like easy transportation option. I did see that they provided round trip transfer from the port of Naples to Pompeii. I think that's what I will schedule.

This is so easy to do oyo that there is no good reason to book transportation.

Walk out of the port, cross the street to where the tram #1 stops, this is the end of the line and take the tram to Porta nolana, the 4th stop where you take the Circumvesuviana directly to Pompei. You are actually taking the train to Sorrento on which Pompei sclavi is a stop.

Technically you need to stop at the tobacconist first to buy your train ticket, which should be about 2.80€ pp each way. Buy the return at the same time. Also remember to validate as you get on the tram

Had booked an excursion with Shorebee but nobody showed up to give the services.

Now nobody is replying my emails or calls.

 

Its a scam and fraud site or they are dealing with the fraudulent...

Within an hour of reading this I had raised a dispute in PayPal and the company have refunded my money so I don't think they are a scam company for anyone who has tours booked with them.

 

If you have a successful tour please post.

I am pleased that you got your money back cshellz, at least it will have put your mind at rest.

 

I stand by my original statement that Shorebee are a reputable company and the service they provided to me and my wife was excellent value. I would not hesitate to use them again on future trips.

 

It seems that both here on CC and also their sister site Trip Advisor there are people who, for various reasons, seem only to make negative comments, some I suspect are internet trolls and others, unfortunately, have more sinister motives. I also notice that the poster who "advised" you against Shorebee have had their comments removed and, as far as I can tell, are no longer a member of this site.

Used Shorebee for an excursion in Kotor (23 May 2018). Had doubts at the time of booking as they were relatively cheap (€100 compared with €150 for most others) and others people had cast doubts. Arranged for a 10.30 departure but the ships tenders were delayed and we arrived 40 mins late. The driver was there waiting. Delightful man who took us to Budva and to a beautiful viewpoint for Sveti Stefan. Also other viewpoints on the way back. He did whatever we requested in terms of timescales.

 

I will book with Shorebee again now they have proved themselves to me. Also I should say that I had a number of questions prior to booking, which were all answered promptly and positively. For example, they supplied two child seats for our grandchildren on request and at no extra cost.

Looks like they are a third party reseller like Viatour. Personally I prefer to book direct with a local operator.

We used shorebee last year in Naples..v happy with service

If you are looking for transfer to and from Rome try Tuscany bus .com

We used them in Rome and pisa/Florence and they were excellent and super cheap

Used them in Kotor May 2018. Superb service. Waited nearly an hour because there was a problem disembarking, informative driver and cruised along at a very comfortable speed. They were signifcantly cheaper than other private excursions I had investigated but ended up tipping too much as he deserved it!

I will use again unquestionably.

I wasn't very impressed with Shorebee.

I used them for a transfer with Tuscany Bus from Livorno to Pisa bus park. Tuscany Bus service was fine.  I also arranged a walking tour of Pisa via Shorebee with DiscoveryPisa.

I was assured by Shorebee via email (also stated on their website) that I would be met at the bus park in Pisa  and escorted to the tower. This DIDN'T happen - no guide waiting - I eventually managed to find the meeting place for the walking tour. The guide was very good and informative, although because of the delay, I didn't have much time to look around Pisa.

I did send feedback to Shorebee, but have not received a response.

Using a 3rd party company like Shorebee is fine, so long as they can manage to coordinate both transport and a tour - that didn't happen!     

In hindsight, I wish I had booked directly with Tuscany Bus and DiscoveryPisa and not used Shorebee.
