Norwegian Star tendering in Sydney

Recommended Posts

We are on the Norwegian Star 19 day cruise commencing the 18 Feb 2017 from Aukland to Singapore. rather disappointingly we have found out that we are likely to berth or anchor? at Bradley's Head, is there anybody that could give us any information regarding:

Tendering time, tendering destination, time taken, etc.

We have been to Sydney twice before and we are quite familiar with the city, we hope that somebody will be able to help us with this.

just checked the Ports of Sydney cruise schedule

N Star is in Sydney twice

6 Feb - Overseas Passenger Terminal- Circular Quay

22 Feb - Athol Buoy- Sydney Harbor.

Cant help with the time or tender destination as it all depends on what the ship arranges. Previous tendering from Athol Buoy has gone to various locations around the harbour...hopefully they will take you to Circular Quay.

Thank you for your very prompt reply. Hopefully if we have to use tenders it will be Circular Quay! Looking forward to visiting New Zealand and returning to Oz.

Thanks again. Joan and David

We tendered from Crystal Serenity to Ives Steps Wharf near Hicksons Point in February - it's an easy 5-10 minute walk around to Circular Quay

Not sure if that is where you will be dropped or not though

One positive point I will make is that being moored at Athol Buoy will afford you a fantastic view of the harbour vista with views of the bridge and up the harbour to Manly and across to the Eastern suburbs - it really is quite lovely

So it's not all bad news in terms of being moored at Athol Buoy as long as your cruise line handle tendering well and provide a regular service to shore

Thanks for the info. We know the location almost under the bridge. We get what you are saying about the views.we have been to Sydney twice before and we absolutely love the place, the people and the atmosphere and never cease to be amazed at the beauty of Sydney harbour and could spend a whole week on Sydney ferries alone. Looking forward to our time in Oz on what will probably be our last visit (never say never). Thanks again ! David & Joan
