2nd guest not transferable?

The second guest in a friend's room had to back out of the cruise at the last minute. I'm being told the ticket is not transferable so she can't bring someone else with her. Anyone have experience with this? Seems a shame that the cruise will basically pocket this fare. Any ideas?

How last minute? They should be able to do a name change, which used to cost $50 if it was after final payment.

I was 6 weeks out last July sailing and changed a name no charge

My cousin was able to do a name change this past February.

I did a name change 30 days out with no problem or fee last year.

 

Have your friend call NCL and do a name change.

We just did a name change only a few weeks before and was tild as long as it was the first request it was no charge, any other changes and they will charge us.

 

Ours affected a free 3 and 4th passenger not sure if that makes a difference.
