the english lady Posted April 27, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 27, 2016 Going in the Britannia in May. What are we allowed to take onboard? Basically as much as you like, but if you appear with barrels and crates of alcohol they may question you. What ever you take its best in your hand luggage, and you have to be able to lift it and put it through the scanners. I take one wine box, which lasts me 2 weeks. You can bring drink onboard at your ports of call as well Bear in mind this is for in cabin consumption ONLY. Not around the ship.

jocap Posted April 28, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 28, 2016 Now, someone on Facebook has been insisting that spirits can be taken on board at Southampton but not at any other port. This came as a surprise to me, as we usually buy Spanish brandy, limoncello etc abroad, and everything's gone through the scanner as usual. Has anyone else heard this? the english lady Posted April 29, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 29, 2016 OH always gets whisky as required as we bob around where ever, Never had a problem bringing it on board. P and O are quite grown up about this.

We brought a very nice bottle of Grappa back on board in Florence with no issues at all.
uk338 Posted April 29, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 29, 2016 We used to take a little onboard to have a drink on the balcony, but then we realised that the per-bottle price for spirits from room service is pretty much as cheap as on-shore.
