mjthecruiser Posted April 27, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2016 For anyone who has cruised mid to late October, how was the weather on your cruise? We want to travel then but our friends are afraid weather will be much worse than early September.

But these days with weather patterns changing so much it's hard to say.

Sometimes it's windy, sometimes it's not. Just like the rest of the year. About all you can say is that both months are the ones least likely to see see a cyclone in the region. In the more southerly islands, like New Caledonia, Sept/Oct has probably the coolest sea temperatures of the year, say 23-24 rather than the 27-28 in Jan/Feb. Further north, like Fiji, it is warm all year round.
Markanddonna Posted January 23, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 23, 2018 We were in Fiji and New Caledonia in Oct. One thing that some other folks mention, that I agree with, is that we thought the weather would be warmer. Swimming at the beaches was for the hardy. It was in the 60's and pretty windy in Suva and comfortable in Lautoka- about 70.
