wripro Posted May 7, 2016 #26 Share Posted May 7, 2016 Who else thinks that within three months SS will get many complaints see that this system is not working and will alter it in some way to provide someplace where there is open seating without advance reservations? This is a deal breaker for me. Part of a luxury experience is not having to decide months in advance where I will want to dine on any given night. This might have to be a fairly large space -- difficult to create after the ship is launched. It would have to be proximate to a large galley, etc. Perhaps the notion of encouraging "dining" in one's room is all part of a program to give the butler's more to do. mjnvoyager Posted May 9, 2016 #29 Share Posted May 9, 2016 I'm booked on the Muse next May. The last thing we want to do is dine in our cabin. Surely we will be able to dine reasonably easily. I cannot see SS altering one of their flagship promises to dine when you like and with whom.
Observer Posted May 10, 2016 #30 Share Posted May 10, 2016 I cannot see SS altering one of their flagship promises to dine when you like and with whom. This promise applies only to The Restaurant (MDR), not to the speciality restaurants.
MHF Posted May 10, 2016 #31 Share Posted May 10, 2016 This promise applies only to The Restaurant (MDR), not to the speciality restaurants. And there is the problem...there does not appear to be a MDR on the Muse. There does appear to be a kids playroom/outdoor area. The combination of the two will cause us to either stay with the other SS ships or look elsewhere. Now that Crystal has gone all-inclusive, will add them to the mix to check out for next year. This year is booked on Wind.
Mark_K Posted May 15, 2016 #32 Share Posted May 15, 2016 Jeff, except Silver Wind, I always assumed that the Cloud, Whisper, Shadow and Spirit were named after vintage Rolls Royce models.:D I wondered why Wind was the odd one out. Not sure about Muse! I don't recall a Silver Whisper Rolls Royce. There was a Silver Dawn, though. Seems like that would have been a good ship name. gnld Posted May 17, 2016 #33 Share Posted May 17, 2016 I talked with my Silversea rep this afternoon. He confirmed there will be no MDR on the Silver Muse. But many of the specialty restaurants will be relatively large. Atlantide will be anytime dining (no reservations) as will the casual Regina Margherita. All others will be "by reservation", but he felt one could probably book them just a day or two in advance. And there will be a casino onboard - just not shown yet on the deck plans (which are still a bit of "work in progress"). Hope this clarifies things a bit. Hmmm, as the Reine Margherita is described as an outdoor restaurant, I can't quite see how this is going to work as a year round option. Is it a set surf and turf menu, essentially the same from day to day? Or does it have an ever changing menu with good variety like the MDR. If it's just a larger, no reservation speciality restaurant and there is no traditional restaurant (with dynamic menu) like MDR, this could be fairly tedious on a longer voyage. gnld Posted May 18, 2016 #36 Share Posted May 18, 2016 Good questions from Rosepark and Observer. We'll just have to wait and see. Muse doesn't sail for almost a year. We'll be seeing a lot more details as things get closer, esp. into 2017, I'm sure. Stay tuned!
roomiec Posted May 20, 2016 #37 Share Posted May 20, 2016 I just received word from my TA that Silversea tells her there is a Main Dining Room on Deck 4.
Stevanb Posted May 20, 2016 #38 Share Posted May 20, 2016 On deck 5 it says Main Bar I have never ever seen a bar area that big and tables for 6 looks like the seating in the Atlantide Restaurant which is on 4 with 7 Restaurant which look like it has a table for 20 or so I saw it here SILVER MUSE – Deck Plans - Silversea A lot of empty spaces for casino on upper deck . I say wait and see
Observer Posted May 20, 2016 #39 Share Posted May 20, 2016 I just received word from my TA that Silversea tells her there is a Main Dining Room on Deck 4. This is encouraging. There is a large empty area on the deck plan after of the main elevator bank. Galley? But it's curious that an MDR is not listed among the other dining spots. BTW: Does anyone know if there are rest rooms at the deck 11 Observation Lounge? They are not indicated on the deck plan. The lack of rest rooms at the Observation Lounge was notable on Spirit. Observer Posted May 20, 2016 #40 Share Posted May 20, 2016 On deck 5 it says Main Bar I have never ever seen a bar area that big .... This is in the tradition of Spirit, where the main bar is integrated with the lobby. I do not much like this arrangement and preferred the separate bars on the earlier ships. turnip eater Posted May 21, 2016 #43 Share Posted May 21, 2016 Where did you hear this? The Muse would have to be well behind on schedule to hear this so far out.......unless the ship has been chartered:eek:
Mistizoom Posted May 24, 2016 #44 Share Posted May 24, 2016 (edited) I just saw an ad for Silver Muse in Condé Nast Traveler, June/July 2016 issue. It looks like a very nice ship, however I was rather surprised to see a basic grammatical error (the ad says, "With less than 300 suites..." instead of, "With fewer than 300 suites"). Also, the phrase "tailor-made" was used twice in the same ad ("tailor-made outdoor spaces" and "tailor-made experiences"). Hopefully the money you are spending with Silversea is going to the onboard experiences, as they had better not be paying their ad agency large sums! meow! Posted June 7, 2016 #46 Share Posted June 7, 2016 (edited) We may be wrong, but we cannot find the deck plan for the Muse on the Silversea website at this moment. Is it possible that Silversea has temporarily withdrawn it for some changes, updates and rearrangement? . Edited June 7, 2016 by meow!
Masonic Phantom Posted June 7, 2016 #47 Share Posted June 7, 2016 This promise applies only to The Restaurant (MDR), not to the speciality restaurants. On formal nights one generally went to the MDR ,which we love doing, what happens now.. at this stage it is a bit disappointing .. could be back to the Spirit for us. Gary.
