mondas42 Posted April 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2016 We are sailing on Britannia in July and in anticipation I was looking at the some photos of the ship. I noticed that after looking at some photos of the ship there appears to be a pool with two spa pools right at the front of the bow, on approx deck 7 - ish but this doesn't appear on the deck plans? Am I nuts or is there a extra pool? Is it a crew pool??
groovechick Posted April 29, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2016 This must be a crew facility as it's certainly not available for public use. The pools are on the Lido Deck, the adults-only Serenity Pool by the Retreat and the teens-only pool (at least during school holidays, they may open it up for adults during term time) at the back of Deck 17. mondas42 Posted April 29, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted April 29, 2016 Shame (not that I mind the crew having a pool, God knows they work hard enough), it would be a great place for a public pool.
lake5298 Posted April 29, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2016 In common with Azura and Ventura, and the Princess ships of similar design, there is a crew pool / hot tub area on the bow. Apparently the location enables the Bridge Officers to admire the sunbathing dancers & spa staff... allegedly a couple of marriages already have this design feature to thank! besberry Posted April 29, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2016 There's a crew pool at the front of Aurora too.
silver service Posted April 30, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Pretty much every cruise ship has a crew area on the bow. Some american ships Have them on the stern.
NauticalMiss Posted April 30, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Deck 7, on the bow? That'll definitely be the crew pool. It's where they go for 5 minutes of peace and quiet, and a ciggie.
