rainysundays Posted May 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2016 I've searched for the answer to this but can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know if port is allowed as part of the 2 bottles of wine per cabin that we can bring for embarkation? Or is it considered a liquor? I like wine a lot, but I really, really love port. :-) Thanks in advance!

I read on the boards that someone else really had to convince the screeners that "port wine" is really wine though.
bptex Posted May 4, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 4, 2016 It'll depend on the person that ends up checking it. It is a wine, fortified but a wine. If the bottle looks like a regular wine then your odds are better. Worst case they take it and you get it back when the cruise is over. My local winery does a white dessert wine that comes in at 18% abv, my wife would love to bring a couple of those with us. It has a cork but is in a slightly smaller bottle than normal. We might try it anyway.

riffatsea Posted May 4, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 4, 2016 Port is wine. It is served at wineries during tastings and may come in a smaller bottle which may confuse the security staff.
