tncruisergurl Posted May 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2016 Do you have to get fancy when you eat in the steakhouse? I understand no flip flops and stuff, but can men wear khaki shorts and a polo? Women wear a sun dress? Is the dress code the same as the MDR?

Quoted from Carnival website: "The dress code follows the dress code specified for that evening on board; if the evening is specified as Cruise Casual, shorts are not permitted." Foxinspace Posted May 10, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 10, 2016 DH was sent back to change when he tried to wear khaki shorts. It was the last night, so he had to unpack his pants to wear them!

cb at sea Posted May 10, 2016 #8 Share Posted May 10, 2016 Put on jeans or dockers and a collared shirt. No need to be "dressy"...but long pants and golf/polo shirt is fine.

Lakesregion Posted May 10, 2016 #12 Share Posted May 10, 2016 I keep seeing "no shorts" but the dress code says "dress shorts" so what are dress shorts? Squorts are dress shorts and if your hubby has cute knees they are adorable. He will get lots of looks and those are from all of the many sexes now out and about. sjcruiser Posted May 10, 2016 #13 Share Posted May 10, 2016 We've worn khaki's, dress or linen pants with polo or Hawaiian style shirt (cruise casual), full suit or pants, vest and tie (formal night). I've also seen shorts and t-shirt on formal night ,but not bothered wither way by what other people wear.

I still don't know what "dress shorts" are though. Someone upthread said they got kicked out for khaki shorts. I have plaid shorts (not as loud as my kilt though) and planned to bring Hawaiian flowerdy shirts and some polos. I reckon I should pack some extra long pants though - I'm not about to let a forced quick-change get in between me and food.
tncruisergurl Posted May 11, 2016 Author #15 Share Posted May 11, 2016 Nice! [emoji3]. Sounds to me nobody's on the same page anyway, so I'll make my husband wear long pants just incase. Don't wanna be kicked out. I don't think I can talk him into a kilt though [emoji5]
