Trixie21 Posted May 20, 2016 Author #26 Share Posted May 20, 2016 Yes, the VAT is added to everything. Even with a non-EU port like Gibraltar you have to pay the VAT for all Spanish ports on your itinerary (as soon as you enter the 3 mile zone). You´re "safe" on an Eastern Med itinerary including a Turkish port. steamboats Not sure what the vat rules are - I have purchased shore excursions , booked speciality restaurants and the all access tour and so far the only thing to have vat added to the advertised price has been the Internet package. lovesthebeach2 Posted May 20, 2016 #27 Share Posted May 20, 2016 As you´re cruising out of Barcelona a 21% VAT will be added to the advertised price. This has been the same for the Allure last year. steamboats I pre-purchased a surf and stream for our upcoming Med cruise from Barsalona and I was charged $12.59 per day. No VAT charge. elsie3939 Posted June 27, 2016 #28 Share Posted June 27, 2016 Could it just be the $$$ to pounds conversion???
KiwiGal117 Posted June 27, 2016 #29 Share Posted June 27, 2016 Probably not, as your cruise planner shows your local currency pricing. I just checked mine and it's not showing a service charge. I checked the Terms & Conditions and it says VAT will be charged where applicable. As I'm in Canada, and booking online, maybe I'm exempt from VAT, whereas OP is in the UK, so would not be? Trixie21 Posted June 27, 2016 Author #30 Share Posted June 27, 2016 Some time after I first posted about this the way it was charged changed so that the vat was included in the "headline price" and not just tacked on at the end without explanation. Which was my point to start with!! Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
