Could you get your cabin cleaned twice a day?

How was FTTF? What time did you board? Did they direct you to the appropriate line when you arrived at the POM? Did you get your luggage in a timely manner?

We also just completed the 5/7/16 Caribbean on the Splendor. We just checked the form the steward gave us for 2x a day cleaning - no problem. We didn't do FTTF, but arrived at 12:55 for a 1-1:30 boarding - they made us wait for 5 minutes - and boarding started promptly at 1 pm. We got our luggage within a couple hours. One thing I will say is that we went straight to our cabin to see if we could simply drop off our carry on. The door was wedged open, so we went on in and shut the door......Later on we discovered that wedge means the ROOM IS NOT READY.

The room looked clean and ready to us, but apparently the steward (he was lovely) waited until we left and then went in and vacuumed, put out our robes, , added towels, Funtimes, our complimentarybottles of water etc.

It was entirely our fault - but it did make me realize that by jumping the gun, the cabin was probably not as "disinfected" as it could have been.

When we disembarked, due to general customs delay in Miami, we were not permitted to leave the ship until 11:20, and we saw lots of new guests checked in and ready to board (probably FFTF) - it made me think that the next time because I want a SUPER CLEAN, disinfected, NoroVirus free cabin, I will simply drop off the carry on luggage and leave. Those stewards work so hard, I'm not sure how it's humanely possible to turn the cabins that fast, even though they're vacated before 9 a.m. I want to give them all the time they need to clean it and stock it before I barge in there and start making it my home for the week.

What did you think of the Splendor compared to other Carnival ships? We are going on the May 26th cruise in nine days from Miami to Bermuda, Grand Turk & Amber Cove. The last Carnival ship we were on was the Breeze and I know it won't be anywhere near as nice. How were the shows and how was the food in the MDR? Did you do your time dining? If so, was the wait long? I know this ship doesn't have the HUB app or Guy's, etc., but we wanted to go to Bermuda and this was the only choice right now from Miami. Thanks:)

We also just got off this cruise. I thought the shows were good - the last night was Epic Rock, and even though we don't like rock, it was the best show of the week. Nothing compares to the entertainment on the MSC Divina I have to say, they have the biggest stage on the ocean and much more professional dancers and singers. One night there was no show at all, just a Marriage game and a Liars game....we left. The MDR food was excellent, the service was very good, we did Late dining. There were 2 elegant nights, one night they served lobster, the other there was frog legs, escargot, chateaubriand - as well as lots of other great choices. I do think Carnival MDR food is better than Princess and MSC (just my opinion).

Conclusion

We had a very relaxing cruise . I loved this ship even the decor was terrible :p

Compare to our last CCL cruise I can put in short form things got better from 2009 or worst.

Better- Much much less drunk people. Much older crowed now. I love the idea of ordering water for your cabin. Saved us lots of money. Security was visible and actually talked to people if they doing something wrong.

Same- Cleanness of the public spaces. No one push you to sanitize your hands. before you board she ship or before you go to Lido.:( Luck of service in bars. Hard to get a waiter to bring you a drink in pool or lounge .

Terrible- Smoking inside the ship!!!!!!! I mean really really terrible. And I can smoke myself sometimes but you cannot go to Casino or even seat there in bar -it's stinks! I don't know why CCL still allow smoking inside

Did we have a nice cruise? Yes. Very nice and very average .

Will we cruise CCL again? Only on new ships probably and only if they give me special destination.

We were on this cruise too, and I agree, there were much fewer drunk, younger people - maybe because it's a longer cruise and Colleges had only just closed for the summer that week? The décor is VERY PINK, a bit gaudy, but it didn't affect our cruise at all. The smoking in the casino was awful, we had to walk through the casino every day to get to our MDR, and I covered my nose and held my breath as I sprinted through it. (I don't smoke). And while no-one suggested you use the Sanitizer, this was a negative in my opinion. I like a staff person there, at the buffet particularly, asking you to use the Purell. Some folks think Norovirus is a joke and it's not - I wish everyone, everwhere on the ship would use the sanitizer!

So, you didn't see the signs on the closed doors saying the starerooms would not be ready until 1:30 pm except for those with FTTF , Platinum or Diamond status?

There were no signs on the door - or we most definitely not have walked in and ignored them.

Being I was on this sailing, yes, there were signs on all the closed doors leading to the staterooms saying rooms would be ready at 1:30 pm except for those with FTTF, Platinum or Diamond status.

 I'm sorry this is upsetting you so much, we really didn't see a sign - which is probably because it wasn't there as it took at over 30 minutes to go through check in/security and was after 1:30 when we got to our cabin. Also, as I stated in my post, there were no closed doors and our cabin door was wide open with a wedge. As you were on this sailing, I hope you enjoyed it as much we did. I promise I won't remove a door wedge again!:)
