AZJerry Posted May 24, 2016 #26 Share Posted May 24, 2016 Once that happens, you go into another line which leads to a sit down waiting area. You wait here for a bit (in line, and then seated) until it is time for your row to go through US CBP. In our case, we saw but never entered a sit down waiting area. We were on our feet the entire time. When we got off the bus, the Princess person said we were not to go upstairs when the line split. At the split point, the person there said everyone had to go upstairs which made no sense since the line was definitely splitting there. When we told her what the earlier person had said, she let us skip going upstairs. It turned out that we were correct.
Robinsoncruiseso Posted May 25, 2016 #27 Share Posted May 25, 2016 We have boarded twice at Canada Place this month. First time was the normal order of security, immigration then check in. There was the priority boarding lounge. Second time it was check in, security then immigration. Also a priority boarding lounge. We arrived at the port at 10:30 both times and were on the ship prior to noon. If you have a Nexus/Global Entry card, make sure to tell the guide when you get to the immigration area. There was a separate, short, line. It was not advertised so ask and ask often. One nice thing about the check in first order was the line for security was almost non-existent, even with three ships in port.
Potstech Posted May 26, 2016 #28 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Just went through this boarding experience on May 21. It is the most disorginized mess I have ever seen. Walk long distances to check in luggage. Walk long distances to wait in line the get boarding pass. Walk long distances to go through the line for customs. Walk long distances and up stairs to get on the ship. As much as I hate to say it give me FLL, Baltimore or Seattle over this organized mayhem anyday. There has to be a better way without all the walking and waiting.
VibeGuy Posted May 26, 2016 #29 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Walk long distances and up stairs to get on the ship. Actual stairs? Or just uphill on a sloping/switchback gangway?
