Yes you can. My friend Laura brought a bottle of wine back on the ship in Athens, Livorno, Palermo, and Marseilles. She was never stopped and asked to check it in

I'm a little confused. You didn't post anything about an excursion in Malta, and the photos are all ship photos, or taken from the ship, so it seems like you didn't get off the ship there (Crete and Malta were my favorite stops).

 

But the above photo posted under Palermo is actually the Blue Grotto, which is in Malta. Did you do an excursion and get the photo under the wrong day? I used both my phone's camera and a point and shoot, so uploading them got rather confusing after a while because they didn't show the dates in the same format and after a while, it was all a blur.

 

I took several of Blue Grotto that are almost identical. Since I was running out of memory, I was having to use my P&S camera and I wanted to compare the quality against my phone's camera. Sadly, the P&S quality wasn't nearly as good, so most of my photos from Crete on aren't as sharp or colorful as I'd hoped. :(

 

Just curious if you actually toured Malta.

It is a quiet Sunday morning at work so who is ready for some more pictures....I know I am.

So I left off with my beautiful sunset as we were leaving Palermo. Today the Carnival Vista would bring us to Civitavecchia. Civitavecchia is just an industrial shipyard...if you want to do anything excursion wise you have to go to Rome which is about an hour away by bus or train.

Laura booked an excursion with roll call group for Rome. It was to be a 10 hour excursion. I was having a really rough day when we were in Rome. I was really missing my dad so I decided to stay onboard

 

Laura took a lot of photos on her excursion so I will show you some of her photos and then I will show you what I did for the day

So like I said I decided to stay onboard. I was going through a lot of emotions on this day

 

Once I got up and got moving I headed to breakfast at the Blue Iguana Cantina for breakfast.

 

I like these cabana seating area...there are two of them one on the Blue Iguana side and one of the Red Frog side

 

 

 

 

I bought one of the Parrot cups. I have it on my desk at work

After breakfast I decided to check out a place that I rarely go onboard but since it was a quiet day with no one else onboard...I went to the Video Arcade....haha

Now I did think that the Video Arcade was in an odd location onboard...it was deck 6 right around a bunch of cabins. But I am sure it was one of the only areas for it to go

 

I was the only one checking out the arcade.

The Video Arcade....I thought that was a cool name for the arcade

Now in 13 days you would think that we would've made it everywhere onboard but the one thing that we never did that I now regret is going to see an iMax movie at the Theater. That was the only thing that we didn't have a chance to experience. A part of that was because I never found any of the movies to be enjoyable.

One of my favorite spots on the ship was up on deck 11...it was an open deck. Not many people were ever up there and plus there were comfy chairs...that's always a plus...hehe

 

The Port of Civitavecchia is nothing more than a shipyard

I went to lunch today at Cucina and I was the only one in there for lunch. Another reason why I love port days when I stay onboard.

After lunch I headed back to deck 11 AFT (another quiet, relaxing area onboard).

The Norwegian Epic was docked behind us....that ship is so ugly :eek: not sure what the designers were thinking with all those windows

I headed back down to the cabin to take a little nap but first I stopped in the Family Harbor Lounge for an ice cream cone

 

The cabinets in the Family Harbor Lounge are full of HASBRO games

So I woke up around 5:00 pm. I figured that Laura would be getting back from her excursion soon so I headed up to deck 11 to wait for her up there

 

 

I saw this Tall Ship rolling on by. What a beautiful ship

So remember when I said that when we saw one of the most beautiful sunsets that I had ever seen at Sea....let me know what you think??

This was as we were leaving Palermo I told Laura to look behind her....I thought she was going to fall out of her chair. We both got up and headed up to deck 11 to capture this beautiful sight

 

I was in complete AWE

 

So that is the end of Day #10 onboard the Carnival Vista. Next Up is the crown jewel port on this itinerary of Rome (Civitavecchia)

 

What do I think? There are no words! This is GORGEOUS!!! Have you seen the the thread under the CC "Camera and Photography" discussions where others are posting favorite sunset pictures? If you get a chance, you should post this one there. :)

So once I met back up with Laura we decided to head up to the Spa. She was exhausted from her long excursion so a visit to the spa was nice and relaxing

Ok now these are the showers in the Locker Room in the Spa. Now I am not sure who come up with this design but it is awful. It took forever to get the cubby open. There was no handle...this was so odd

So after the Spa we headed down to the Atrium to get a drink.

 

I thought this was a pretty design for the dreamscape

 

 

This little Guy was waiting for us when we got back to the cabin. Any ideas what this one is

 

So that is the end of Day #11 onboard....our next port stop would bring us to Livorno, Italy. This port was by far our favorite stop
