Great memories, we also stayed at this hotel in 2013 when we sailed the Carnival Sunshine in the med. We also really enjoyed the hotel, food, and especially the location it was so convenient to walk around and explore on our own. I would love to go back to Barcelona and spend some extra time there. Love seeing your pics as I remember some of the same places that you visited. Can't wait to read the rest!:)

Day 1 May 15th, 2016

 

Lets start with a couple of pics I took the day before of Java Blue Coffee shop, located right next to Ocean Plaza

After breakfast we walked around the ship a bit before we took a shuttle to Marseille Old Port

Looking down at the back of the Tides Pool we see the Havana Aft Balcony's and the Havana Pool and Hot Tubs (FYI, the hot tubs were actually hot)

We then went down to deck 4 and walked through the Limelight Lounge, Art Gallery, Skybox Sports Bar and Casino

Took Carnival Shuttle to downtown Marseille (Vieux Port) $15 each, we thought it was worth it

If I had to choose one area that could use improvement it would be the closet space, you do not have enough room for two people to hang your clothes. Don't let the picture fool you below with the mirror reflection.

 

 

 

 

Our Havana wrist bands, heard some rumours that people from the inaugural cruise are actually selling them on ebay...

 

 

Oh, those robes and whatever is at the bottom of the closet would be promptly taken out. Can't hang long dresses with those in it.

 

I don't know if that's even allowed but if I had to, every day I would remove them.

That was an extra bedding comforter. Yeah, I should have put it under the bed don't know why I didn't.

We planned on having a late dinner tonight so it was time for us to try Guy's Burger Joint for the first time, it didn't disappoint (I know it's only a burger but I enjoyed it)

Tonight we took in the early show in the Liquid Lounge, "Studio VIP" not the quality of shows we’ve seen on Norwegian or Royal Caribbean but we always enjoy seeing a show every night.

 

Unfortunately notice a couple of missteps. Saw a dancer stumble on the stairs coming down off the stage and at another point a male dancer hit a female dancer in the face while swinging his arms. In both instances they never missed a beat and continued on as if nothing happened.

 

One disappointment was the lounge was almost empty for the show, it was elegant night so maybe people were out and about doing other things.
