Chairsin Posted May 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2016 We are flying into Santiago a week before our Dec Antartica cruise and even though we know the travel time to get there is pretty much a full day would love to get a recommendation of a Chilean tour operator who can put together a three night trip from Santiago to the Torres Del Paine. While our cruise will have a long port stop in Punto Arenas with an 11 hour tour that goes there most of the day is consumed by travel and we would really like to do a bit of hiking there. maryann ns Posted May 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2016 I would post this on Trip Advisor. You would likely need to fly to Punta Arenas. https://goo.gl/maps/ScECAmVnpYT2 There is no other easy way to get there. From Punta Arenas it is an easy bus ride to Puerto Natales. There are several busses a day and you do not need to book ahead. From Puerto Natales you can find lots of outfitters or you can have made pre-arrangements in advance. On Trip Advisor you will can ask for recommendations for guides or operators.

We are excited for you and your trip as we have done a similar one , and would like to return again . We also did a 3 day post cruise stay at El Calafate to see the Perrito Moreno Glacier . As you can see on this map , Torres Del Paine is within driving distance from El Calafate , but it is not a direct crossing . We didn't do it last time as 3 days would not have been enough , but if we return , we will stay a week to do TDP , PM Glacier and El Chalten , pictured below , in Argentina . Charlot11 Posted November 5, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 5, 2016 What could we do in Punta Arenas with a cruise stop of 12h ? I want to see nice view of mountain or not too hard trek... Thanks
Chairsin Posted November 6, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted November 6, 2016 We leave in less than a month and here is the precruise itinerary we have set. We will fly from Santiago to Piunta Arenas and be picked up and driven from there to the Eco Camp in the Torres Del Paine. We are now spending five nights there to allow enough time to take advantage of the tours and hiking the company (Cascada Travel who owns the Eco Camp) offers. Then we will be driven back to Punta Arenas and fly back to Santiago. From there we are flying two Easter Island for two days of tours and then back to Santiago. After two nights in Santiago we are taking a wine tour enroute to Valparaiso where we will pick up our ship the Seabourn Sojourn. The ships 11 hour tour to TDP from Punts Arenas, especially on Christmas Day, was just not going to satisfy us. So the day we are in Punta Arenas we are going on a penguin watching boat trip with Solo Expediciones to Magdalena and Marta Island. It really does not appear you have any "short" options for visiting TDP from Punta Arenas. . Sent from my iPad using Forums
