Escape Smoking-Haven

I know from my last time on the ship the Waterfront is no smoking just the tiny cigar/smoke room but I did hear that in the Haven there was a place to smoke. I wasn't in The Haven so didn't apply but this trip on June 11th I actually will be in a Haven Spa Suite so now I'm wondering if that was true. Can anyone confirm please?

The only smoking area in the Haven is on deck 19 all the way forward. Plenty of ashtrays available.

FYI, you can also smoke at the upper pool bar, Spice H2O and the casino in addition to the cigar room.

Hi Tracy -

Are any of those under any cover?

I'm in an Aft Haven Suite (I loved it on the Breakaway) and have been debating about moving into the Haven itself.

Thanks!

Heidi

The Haven smoking section is not covered. There might be a slight curve to the glass dividing wall but I don't think enough to shield you if there is rain. But you are kind of surrounded by glass walls, so it does cut the wind a bit. The casino is inside, but I think you have to be playing to linger there and smoke. Upper pool bar and Spice h2o both have some area that is covered.

Thanks. I should have mentioned that I knew the layout of the Haven outside (was there on the Breakaway) and, well, I do donate, substantially, to the casino

I like to have coffee and read (especially early in the morning as I usually am up by 5am), so was seeing about Spice H2O etc (never even ventured there on the Breakaway - was in Vibe). Just figuring out logistics of the coffee situation since, on Breakaway, they put coffee out right by the Cigar Lounge (which was very, very convenient for me to get appropriately caffeinated).

Thanks! :)

Hi There! Just off of escape last Saturday and had an aft Haven suite (15880). Smoking in the haven is in fact on deck 19 forward on the sun deck. Every time I went up to smoke there was either nobody there or 1 or 2 people enjoying the sun. It was a beautiful spot and is typically covered with the open umbrellas and as the other poster indicated, there are plenty of ash trays.

Enjoy! We loved our suite and loved the Haven, although, some snafu's in service that I think was attributed to the fact we weren't actually staying in the Haven itself. I'm about to write a long review of the trip.....take a look when you have some time.

Yup,,, really a shame that they place the smoking area upwind of everyone else trying to enjoy the sun. Would have been better to carve out a spot next to the wall of the vibe, glasses in, and kept the bow nonsmoking.

Thanks for asking that question I too need a caffeine and nicotine fix early morning. I read that the waterfront is non smoking on the Escape was wondering what my options would be. We sailed on the Getaway the last 2 years and the waterfront was ideal. I wouldnt expect my nonsmoking DH to go to the Humidor so as we are in a Spa Balcony not Haven I will have to go to the pool bar.

I really wish NCL would provide smoking areas that fit the needs of both smokers and non smokers I think the smell of smoke on 678 (particularly by Le Bistro ) is horrid and completely understand why its the source of complaints on here. I would never smoke anywhere where you are not allowed too and I will miss having a morning coffee and pre dinner drink on the waterfront it makes no sense to me to allow smoking inside at the casino but not outside on 678. Have a wonderful cruise.

We are on the Escape on Oct 22. My husband has not engaged me with planning or any other aspects of the cruise because he says it's too far off. HOWEVER, he has asked me if and where he'll be able to have his after-dinner cigar and rum. He doesn't know we're staying in the Haven, but at least I know he'll have a place to go.

I LOVE smoking on vacation! I can't wait to be on the ESCAPE with my 1st drink and lightning up a cigarette!

So have all the way up and forward it is, will also try to get VIBE and hope one can smoke at the bar there as well!

I hate to tell you but you can't at the bar in Vibe anymore either. (It's why I bought the passes last time and was pissed so thought you should know)
