We are looking at potentially the Getaway for next year and was wondering what deck to book? We are planning to book a balcony or mini suite either mid or aft. Any suggestions on which deck to consider?

I would shy away from deck 12 unless you have kids, stay away from deck 12-14 aft if you aren't an up all night partner due to spice h2o and stay away from deck 9 just over the waterfront.

Otherwise, you should be good to go. Remember ministers have bigger bathrooms, but the rest is the same. I had a midship balcony on deck 12 and other than kids running up the halls at all hours, it was a great cabin.

This time, we are trying aft deck 10. I'll report back

Do the Ministers need more room to pray? ;)

we had a deck 9 aft balcony and loved it so much we have rebooked it- one flight down to all the stuff on 8 and the waterfront. If you spring for an aft balcony you will be amazed at the size.

I was on deck 12 last time on the getaway and it wasn't bad - you only hear the kids getting on and off the elevator, but not terrible - still wouldnt choose it if you have a choice - I prefer aft, idk, I feel like aft is closer to a lot of things - that may not logistically be true, but when I am looking for my room, I can always find it when its aft lol

11 Mid was good for us balcony. Close enough that we used the stairs most of the time, but elevators close too. No issues with kids or noise.

7 - Tropicana Room, casino

8 - waterfront, shopping, Mojito bar

15 - buffet

16 - Entourage, Spice H20, Flamingo grill

We were on deck 10, mid-ship mini suite. We found it to be very quiet as there are staterooms above and below you. We liked it so much that we booked the same room for our next cruise. We were in 10840.

We have been on Getaway twice with a third cruise booked. We had a large balcony on deck 9 forward the first time. It was awesome! The balcony was about twice the size of the regular balcony. We were concerned about the forward position but we had no issues with movement or noise. We love the proximity of deck 9 to the dining and entertainment venues, we rarely used the elevators.

Our 2nd cruise, we stuck with deck 9 but upgraded to an AFT balcony. (deck 9 AFT balconies are the largest) It is huge and we loved it so much, we booked the same cabin for the next one! Good luck!!

Not enough info provided. What are the things you want to avoid and the things you do want to be near? Go to https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/getaway/deck-plansand look at what is on each deck and decide what is best for you. We prefer a deck that has only cabins above and below us, avoiding any public areas especially eateries. Some people prefer to be as close to the pool as possible, some what to be as high/low as possible, some what to be as close to the buffet. It is all a mater of personal preference.

I concur, we had a deck 10 aft balcony, not as good as 9, but OMG love the aft balcony!!! SO LARGE and roomy! Kind of costly, but if you can swing it, a great room

We were on the Getaway on Thanksgiving 2015

A million kids on board

We had cabin 13836 It was on the bump of the ship so the balcony was a little larger very quiet area of the ship

We are in cabin 12806 on the September 18th sailing of the Getaway. We have no children traveling with us. I have been told by NCL that is a quiet cabin but I am hearing from others that deck 12 is noisy with children running up and down the hallways? Has anyone stayed in this cabin? I am wondering if we need to change cabins while we still can. Thanks for any input. This is our first cruise so we are just learning.

You're travelling at a time when there really won't be a lot of kids, schools are back in session across the country.

deck 14 mid ship is not bad until 530 am when they start putting out the deck chairs. they slam them down and drag them. Once they were out it was quiet. we occasionally could hear someone running around on deck at odd hours but it was not too bad. We were in cabin 14192.
