Activity for 18-20 Year Olds??

Recommended Posts

Considering sailing Aug 6 out of San Juan w DD who is nearly 20 years old. She's our only child and loved teen clubs on past sailings, but is now too old.

Does anyone know if Adventure of Seas has any organized activity for the 18-20 year old crowd? Evan a meet & Mingle might offer a chance to make some friends.

Thanks!

Maybe consider letting her bring a friend? Even if it is at the expense of that friend.

The 18-20 group is tough because you can't do the organized stuff but you are too young to drink/bar hop. She can gamble at sea though lol :p

At 18, a person will do whatever ANY adult would do! She can go to all adult areas of the ship, use the pools, gamble (except on Hawaiian and Alaskan routes)....and she will meet other young adults! Usually, at the pool or sports deck.

18-20 year-olds can enjoy themselves just like all the other passengers! They are adults. They cannot drink alcohol, and although some people may find it hard to believe, many adults do not drink alcohol and still have a good time on a cruise.

They can do just what all other passengers do. I have never understood why people consider them a separate group.

Upon boarding check out the cruise compass for your sailing.

Listed will be a meet and greet for 18-20 year olds.

It is usually around 10-11pm in one of the bar areas.

This way your DD an meet with others her age and make friendships early in the cruise.

Our Then 18-19 and 20 years of age at the time DD, looked forward to this meeting and always looked forward to sailing as an only child and has the time of her life.

Enjoy, do not worry.

Safe travels.

My son never had a hard time meeting other people his age...until he was in this age group. There are no meet & mingles. Every time there was an "event" the whole ship was invited and there was no separation so he could find other interested young adults. We even made suggestions to the staff running the events. For example. Trivia.... Everyone made teams. My son went but it was for the ship, so you were just with everyone. It would have been nice to have a section for the under 21 group? A meet and greet would have been great too. Yes, he still had fun, but it was much different then when he hung out with other kids his age.

I would suggest bringing a friend.
