Safety drill time for overnight departure

We are on a cruise that begins with an overnight (embark at 1:00 pm Dec 19 and depart port at 8 pm Dec 20). When might they have the required safety drill? We are considering an off ship show the night of Dec 19th and didn't know if that's possible. Know there are experienced cruisers out there who might know! Thanks!

Most of the time we've had 6pm departures but I remember a 10pm departure from Civitavecchia and the drill was still held around 5pm.
