That would be tough, given that the ship, (you'd have to be tied up at dock), might have movement or vibration which may show up in a 20 second exposure.... But on calm waters in port, on tripod of course, it might work! Maybe I'll give it a try next trip!

Even in dock it wouldn't work. Have a look at timelapse with a ship in it...... they always move.... but I suspect you'd get too much light pollution on deck anyway.
