DanaDanes Posted June 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2016 Hi all I am looking at taking my mom and sister on a very short three night celebrity silhouette cruise in January 2017. Right now there are no perks and no options to upgrade to go big better or best. Is this typical for short cruises that there are no perks offered? Or should I wait a while to book to see if they are offered? Thanks very much! Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
Rare Hlitner Posted June 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2016 Yep, that would be typical of short cruises. The particular cruise you are looking at will likely be used, in a big way, as a "fam" cruise for travel agents. Since X does not do a lot of short cruises, it is a good opportunity for the to market to travel agents. Hank
Northern Aurora Posted June 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 28, 2016 Last month we concluded a series of cruises on the Eclipse. One was a two night "Taste of Modern Luxury" cruise from Southhampton to Le Havre. Depending on which staff person you talked to there were between 450 to 600 UK travel agents on board for an industry meeting. They were using venues such as Tuscan, Silk Harvest and Blu during the day. The "taster" was initially open only to UK bookings but later also opened to NA bookings. None of the non-travel agent passengers that I talked to on this two night cruise, whether they were from North America or the UK, received any perks.
