Hi all. Heading on our first cruise next January in the Caribbean. We are from Ireland and wondering has anyone any advice on what company/broker to use for insurence that covers the essentials we need for peace of mind.

You'll probably have a better chance of getting some answers, especially about coverage for residents of non-USA countries.

Hi Kero. If you have private insurance I usually get the attached multi-trip insurance. These all include health and trip insurance, luggage etc. A lot of them offer specific cruise add ons, but these are usually just for missing ports and extra money for luggage.

Just be sure to read policy carefully, most travel insurance in Ireland inludes repatriation cover in case of injury or illness. My world wide insurance cost about €70 per year.

Above site is American and is not relevant to Ireland. Go to laya or vhi or an Irish insurance broker, loads on the Internet including compare sites.

Thanks Kerry. Had a look at vhi and couldn't find if they covered any cruise stuff. I may give them a call and see what they cover. Thanks again
