MDR reservations. Necessity?

We last sailed the Dawn repositioning cruise in November 2014 and there weren't reservations for either MDR. Is it necessary to have a reservation to eat in either MDR or can we go wait in line like before?

 

We are sailing the Jade in Europe in September if this helps.

No, reservations are not needed.
