Ncl excursion to Pompelli

It depends on which excursion you choose .If you do the DIY you must stand on line and pay to enter .The cost is transportation only. We made that mistake. For the small cost difference I would suggest the guided NCL tour as you go ahead of lines and enjoy the site to a greater degree . Admission is figured into the excursion cost.Even in April the lines were tremendous.

I think it's just as easy on the train to get to Pompeii from Naples, which seem to run a couple of times an hour, and is pretty cheap.

An alternative to Pompeii is Herculaneum, which is even closer to Naples.

One of the pleasures for me when visiting new places is to DIY as much as possible in order to see more of the country and engage more with locals.

Thanks for the replies.

I appreciate day excufsions work out hell of a lot cheaper. But my wife refuses to do any other than the ncl one for fear of missing the ship. As this is the only excursion we will be doing, I don't mind biting the bullet.

I posted above. Failed to mention mine was through NCL.

As we all know the ncl excursion prices are pretty high. For the one to Pompelli, does the price include the admission, or is it just for the transport.5

Thanks

We done a private excursion of the amalfi coast and also included a wine tour at Mt Vesuvius and entrance to Pompeii.

The amalfi coast and pompeii excursion was very good, and all the costs were included in the price. It still felt like good value, even if it wasn't the cheapest one on offer.

It does include admission. I tried to find a good private tour that included Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast and couldn't, so we took the NCL tour. It was expensive. If you go DIY on the train, you will have to pay for admission and for a guide.
